Cochin: Christmas is a perfect time for giving. One of the greatest gifts you can give is hope. Sometimes food is the best gift you can give a hungry soul and Spread the gift of kindness this holiday season. That is exactly what these group of friends did in Cochin. Young Souls of Kochi (YSK) as they call themselves is a group of college friends, who got together this winter to remind us about the vulnerable and homeless as Christmas creeps in. They understand that this can be a very stressful time for everyone but more so for anyone who is unfortunate enough to be homeless during the festive period.

This Christmas, they fed 200 people with small donations and support from friends and family. Spokesperson of YSK said he was blown away with the generosity of Kith and kin who supported them. Christmas was just getting started, and he hoped it would one day feed 1000 people.

They provided packets following all Covid 19 protocols and they made sure all the volunteers have worn masks and gloves while they share these packets. They also made sure Families with children get a second box.

They distributed food packets in Edappally, Marine Drive, Railway Station, Gandhi Nagar and Kaloor. Like these wonderful human beings, volunteers across the state have shared food and clothes with the homeless. Corporations and municipalities have also opened food collection points for them. Individuals have been spotted sharing food. Almost all churches have opened their doors for them too.
